Alianza con FIAT significa una de las más grandes inversiones en el sector automovilístico en Rusia
El acuerdo se firmó en presencia del primer ministro ruso, Vladimir Putin
Fiat y Sollers han anunciado la creación de una alianza global, bajo la forma ‘joint venture’, para la fabricación de automóviles y vehículos utilitarios deportivos (SUV, por sus siglas en inglés). La capacidad productiva de la nueva joint venture alcanzará los 500.000 vehículos por año hasta el 2016.
El convenio ha sido firmado por Vadim Shvetsov, consejero delegado de Sollers, y Sergio Marchionne, consejero delegado de FIAT Group, con la presencia del Primer Ministro de Rusia, Vladimir Putin. Según lo acordado, en el mercado ruso se comercializarán nueve modelos nuevos, seis de los cuales se producirán sobre una nueva plataforma global FIAT-Chrysler. Al menos el 10% de los vehículos fabricados se destinará a la exportación.
El desarrollo y la adecuación técnica de los nuevos vehículos para el mercado ruso los efectuará el Centro Técnico de Ingeniería formado por la ‘joint venture’. El proyecto estipula que el porcentaje de componentes de fabricación local, incluidos motores y cambios, no será inferior al 50%, así como la creación de un nuevo parque tecnológico para la producción de estos suministros.
La creación de la nueva joint venture entre la italiana Fiat y la empresa rusa, Sollers, será una de las más grandes inversiones en el sector automovilístico en este país. El proyecto incluye todos los aspectos clave del ciclo de producción de vehículos con alto valor añadido. Por ello, se prevé que el Gobierno ruso apoye la creación de la joint venture, dotando al proyecto de préstamos preferenciales para cubrir las inversiones necesarias, valoradas en 2.400 millones de euros.
“El plan para la creación de un acuerdo comercial de estas dimensiones – comenta Vadim Shvetsov, consejero delegado de Sollers– refleja nuestra confianza en el mercado automovilístico ruso. Creando un centro de desarrollo y fabricación de vehículos Fiat y Chrysler, seremos capaces de ofrecer a nuestros clientes los productos más atractivos en los principales segmentos de mercado, para lograr alcanzar una posición de liderazgo en el creciente mercado ruso”.
